In Situ it is an investigation on a bending-active flexible guide system that generates multiple forms of vaults. As part of the research, we have built three vaults using reusable bamboo strips as guidework to reduce the use material and cost. Bending behavior of the bamboo was modelled and calculated, so changes in the stiffness of the strip forced bamboo to bend into a structural shape of a parabolic arc.
